All major aero-engine manufacturers, the two most competent research organizations in the field of aeronautic combustion research in Europe and an industrial organization specializing in measurement techniques are active project partners. Each is bringing its own specific experience related to design, manufacture and integration of combustor systems into the project. The consortium was not able to identify a SME that had the potential to become a partner in this CA.
The project comprises 9 partners from the France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. Most of the partners of the consortium are already used to working together in European Rtd programmes and are already working together in several FWK 4, 5 and 6 combustion programmes on low emission combustion technology. The consortium will keep in touch with the three EIMG member organizations ITP from Spain, Techspace-Aero from Belgium and Volvo Aero from Sweden who had expressed their interest to passively support the work of this CA.
Beside the pure work relation there is a multitude of personal contacts and links. One important benefit of doing this work on a European level is that duplication of work is avoided and to strengthen European competitiveness by focusing existing European expertise. Furthermore, collaboration on a European level enhances integration of Europe and cohesion and therefore contributes to the improvement of the quality of life of all citizens in the European Community.
